Digestive Enzymes Boost Vitality

At first you may not draw the connection between your digestive system and your skin, but if you analyze the digestive system, it will become clear to you that its' ability to function effortlessly contributes greatly to skin and overall health.

How much work you force your digestive system to do is directly connected to the level of energy you will enjoy and how strong an immune system you can develop.

Recall how you feel after you eat a large meal, say a holiday dinner. Do you feel like you are bursting with energy, just raring to take a jog, or can you barely scuffle over to the couch for a nap? The amount of food you eat can overtax the digestive system, but so can the type of food that you eat. And one excellent and healthful way to assist an overworked digestive system in through active plant enzymes.

Today, 75% of our food is processed. That means it comes from a box, can, jar, or is made by someone (or something) else. Fifty years ago, less than 20% of the food supply was processed. The bulk of our food came the way mother nature prepared it, and we did all the work. Processing foods changes its composition and not for the better.

Your body has many mechanisms at its disposal to break down the foods that you eat. The physical breakdown of food occurs as the teeth mash your food, and as the stomach's contractions combine and break down food particles.

At various points beginning in the mouth, your body secretes enzymes which chemcially break down the bonds of the foods that you eat. Without these important enzymes, your body could not possibly digest your food quickly enough to sustain life and vitality.

Unprocessed, raw foods contain their own enzymes that help self-digest these foods. This saves tremendous energy for the body, in that the body need not produce all of its own enzymes to break down these foods.

Continually eating processed foods means that you are asking your body to continually secrete its own enzymes for digesting your food. By eating more raw, unprocessed food, you give your digestive system a break. It still must break down the foods, but it will have the assistance of the added enzymes, which will make the job that much easier.

We are so accustomed to eating cooked foods that eating a largely raw food diet is not a likely possibility for most of us. However, we can still take the edge off of digestive efforts our bodies will be required to assert if we supplement with natural, active plant enzymes.

I truly can't live without these. I keep them in my bag at all times, and carry them wherever I go. I field them out to my family whenever we eat anything cooked, wherever we are. Some may think me crazy, but my level of energy and health will support my position.

Sluggish digestion is literally a breeding ground for trouble. Digestive struggles will exhaust the immune system, something well worth protecting.

Constipation is literally rotting food in the digestive tract. No good can come from that, for sure. Why weigh down the immune system with so much extra work? Free up some of that energy for fighting bacterias, viruses, pre-cancerous elements, etc.

Of course, active plant enzymes are not your ticket to eat junk without penalty. Junk food is still junk food, and it will create work for your system as your body strives to eliminate chemicals and additives from your system. You should still be eating less processed foods. Enzymes will simply help you digest your cooked foods with greater ease.

Eating foods in their most natural state and selecting a hearty dose of foods high in fiber will help with skin clarity. Concentrated foods, such as refined/white grains (especially wheat) and animal proteins contain little or no fiber. They don't travel down the digestive tract as smoothly as high-fiber foods. When they get "stuck", or take too long to move down the digestive canal, they literally rot, creating bacteria and draining the immune system.

In summary, you can noticeably boost your energy, level of health and skin clarity and radiance by: 1. Eliminating junk foods; 2. Eating as much raw, unprocessed foods as possible, high in fiber; 3. When eating cooked foods, supplementing with active plant enzymes, to expedite the breakdown of foods in the system and keep energy levels high.

Not all enzymes are equal. Many of the cheaper brands of enzymes are processed with heat, which makes them useless. Others utilize enzymes from animal sources, which may not be the best substitute for you. The gentlest, most effective way to expedite your digestion is to supplement with active, plant enzymes. Our pharmaceutical brand, SIMILASE, is gentle enough even for children, and will not result in a "lazy" digestive system that begins to depend on the enzymes over time.

So while eating a perfect diet may not be a possibility for the vast majority of us, we can all enjoy the vibrant health that a smooth and efficient digestive system has to offer with just a few simple measures!
